Process water recirculation
Many industrial and commercial processes use large volume of process water, and it makes sound commercial sense to re-circulate if at all practical. However, there are several considerations which need addressing before this can be successfully achieved.
- Chemical composition
- Excessive heat gain
- Solid particulate pick up from the process
Filtration can only effectively deal with the removal of the solids from process water but the addition of heat recovery for hot or warm water processes can add additional benefits. Build up of chemical, dissolved or otherwise along with bacterial growth also need to be considered.

CrossflowMF1.0 sand filter
For removal of contamination down to less than 0.45 micron. This high efficiency media technology, based on sand filtration, can be used for energy savings when applied to HVAC system when the removal of fine solids can improve heat transfer by up to 30%. Likewise on larger application the re-use of process water may require removal of solids down to sub micron sizes to ensure process integrity.

This technology has been very successful in the plastic extrusion industry with over 94% of the UK capacity using this system on both small and large water system. Systems using SpinClean range from 6 m3/hr to over 400 m3/hr, with filtration grade of either 20 or 50 micron

GDS Gravity Drum System
A very simple yet very effective system for removal of high volume bulky solids, has been used on the removal of wood waste from wood processing sites were rain water run off is an issue for environmental pollution. Once the wood waste has been recovered it is often re cycled back into the product whilst the water is re claimed for process use

This simple "no moving parts" technology can be used for the removal of high density solids from water by the use of "kinetic energy" these are available from 10 mm to 300 mm pipe connections with flows up to 1100 m3/hr.
