Manufacturers in the paper and board sectors need to ensure that the daily usage of millions of litres of water required for processing is not available at the lowest and with the highest quality. Many use alternative sources such as river or lake rather than use potable water which is fast becoming a scarce resource.
By utilising river water, and pre filtration such as SpinClean or AGF technology river water can be the main source of water supply without adversely effecting quality. Once water has been used within the process the large volumes of effluent can then be recycled to lower grade applications such as wash down water or mixing water. The reduction in waste water volumes reduces the companies environmental impact.
The manufacture of textiles, including the dying and bleaching process are in many ways similar to that of paper manufacture , and has many of the same issues of supply and quality, so technologies are often interchangeable.
In both sectors steam for the production is also a major factor and again with the correct filtration using combination of SpinClean, AGF and the CrossFlowMF technology river water can be presented to the boiler feed system in ideal condition
